Full-time Veterinarians

Sandra Albright, DVM-Practice Owner

Dr Albright was raised in Pennsylvania, grew up surrounded by animals, and always knew she would be a veterinarian. She earned her undergraduate degree from Penn State and later moved to Raleigh so she could attend North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She opened Crossroads Veterinary Hospital doors over 26 years ago as the only veterinarian in the practice. Dr. Albright supports over 10 local animal rescue organizations and provides daily veterinary care for many of these rescued animals. Dr. Albright also enjoys running, gardening, and spending time with her husband, 2 daughters, and rescued dog and cat.

Chris Barber, DVM

Dr. Barber earned 2 undergraduate degrees at Duke University before attending veterinary school at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian and has an interest in surgery. She is an equestrian and enjoys her spare time skiing, attending soccer games, and volleyball with her husband and 3 children. Dr. Barber’s family also includes her horse named Truman, rescued weimaraner named “Mouse”, and 2 rescue cats, Foxy and Midnight. Dr Barber has stayed a fan of Duke Football and Basketball.

Shanda Streeter, DVM

Dr. Streeter earned her Bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University and was finishing a Masters degree in Molecular Biology when she was accepted into veterinary school at NC State. She became interested in veterinary medicine after her own dog was sick and cared for in an ICU. Dr Streeter loves gardening and spends a lot of her spare time traveling to visit family in Eastern North Carolina with her husband and two sons. Her family also includes Sydney a 16 year old husky and 2 rescue cats, Charlie and Sally.

Joceyn Pease, DVM

Dr. Pease graduated from the NCSU CVM and started her career in Eastern NC and where she gained intensive emergency medical experience and training. She later moved back to the triangle and has been part of the CVH team for many years. Dr. Pease enjoys her spare time with her husband, 2 children, and 2 rescue dogs.

Donna Hill, DVM

Dr. Donna Hill is a 1991 graduate of the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. She has enjoyed working with the staff, clients, and patients at Crossroads Veterinary Hospital since 2001. Dr. Hill grew up in the beautiful western NC mountains where she was able to spend much of her childhood around dogs, cats, cows, pigs, chickens, and horses. She knew from an early age that she wanted to practice veterinary medicine. She attended NCSU for her BS in Zoology as preparation for veterinary school. Dr. Hill lives in Cary with her husband and 2 children as well as 3 rescue cats and a dog. All of her pets have been rescued, and have been wonderful additions to her family. She spends her free time with family and working with middle school youth in her church. Dr. Hill’s hobbies include swimming, hiking, jewelry making, and reading.

Tristan Lamberton, DVM

Dr Lamberton graduated from NCSU CVM and has done everything from emergency medicine to wildlife rescue. She works part-time at CVH and spends her spare time on her farm and mobile practice.

Katie Smith, DVM

Dr Smith graduated from NC State and has a passion for rescue work. She and her family have rescued many cats over the years.

April Ward, DVM

Dr Ward was a police officer and earned a masters degree before she became a veterinarian. She graduated from NC SU CVM and has been working part time so spend time with her husband, 4 daughters, as well as dogs and cats.

Services We Offer

BATHING

Treat your pet to a therapeutic bath. Our special, cleansing baths remove dirt, debris and that doggie pet odor – your pet will feel fresh and revitalized. If scratching is a problem, our medicated baths contain soothing agents that stop the itching. Services also include nail trim and ear cleaning.

BOARDING

Pets are like our children – we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. Our highly qualified kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. We provide tender loving care, and supervised outdoor time to keep them happy and active.

DENTAL CARE

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound technology to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup.Advanced dental care is available, including extractions.

EMERGENCY AND CRITICAL CARE

In any emergency, seconds count. Our experienced staff is prepared and the clinic is stocked and equipped to administer the ABCs of basic life support – Airway, Breathing, Circulation/Cardiac compressions. Emergency care is offered during regular business hours. In addition, we use the services of a local, fully staffed emergency facility.

We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs in the animal healthcare field.

HOSPICE/EUTHANASIA SERVICES

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet and family member is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity at all times. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client.

IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE

We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages.

MEDICINE

Our veterinarians cover all areas of medicine, including: Cardiology; Ophthalmology; Neurology; Dermatology; Gastroenterology; Orthopedic surgery; Oncology; Endocrinology; among others. We will also consult or refer cases to a specialist if indicated at any time.

MICROCHIPPING

Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the most widely used microchip products to increase the chances of a safe recovery.

NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING

Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active.

PAIN MANAGEMENT

Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.

RADIOLOGY

Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems.

SURGERY

We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: board certified surgeon available for consultation; fully trained veterinary and technical staff, to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; advanced sterilization techniques; ECG,BP, and oxygen saturation monitors; intensive after surgery care and full blood testing.

ULTRASOUND

This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs.
